We are seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to lead and deliver SAP implementation and upgrade projects in the pharmaceutical industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAP project management, a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical domain, and experience with GxP and regulatory compliance requirements. This role requires a strategic mindset, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage complex, cross-functional SAP projects within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership:
- Lead end-to-end SAP projects, including implementation, rollouts, upgrades, and integrations, while ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the business, IT teams, and external vendors.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry to understand business requirements and align SAP solutions with organizational goals.
- Ensure effective communication with stakeholders at all levels, including sponsors, business leaders, and functional teams.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure projects meet pharmaceutical regulatory requirements, including GxP, FDA, EMA, and other compliance standards.
- Manage documentation and validation activities to support audits and regulatory reviews.
- Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify potential risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve challenges to ensure smooth project execution.
- Resource Management:
- Lead cross-functional teams, including internal resources and third-party vendors, to deliver project objectives.
- Monitor and manage resource allocation to ensure optimal utilization.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive best practices in SAP project delivery and ensure alignment with the organization’s IT and business strategies.
- Promote innovation and improvements in system functionalities to support business growth and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in SAP project management, with at least 3-5 years in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Proven track record of leading SAP implementations (eg, ECC, S/4HANA) in regulated environments.
- Domain Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical processes, including supply chain, manufacturing, quality management, and finance.
- Familiarity with GxP requirements, validation processes, and regulatory compliance in the pharma industry.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in SAP modules such as MM, SD, PP, QM, FI/CO, and WM/EWM.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA migrations or implementations is a plus.
- Project Management Skills:
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
