Following on from the success of The Women in SAP Report 2024, it’s time to share the second of five ED&I focused reports: The Neurodiversity in SAP Report 2024.

This coincides with SAP’s recent announcement that they have joined Neurodiversity in Business (NiB), an industry forum to support the participation of neurodivergent individuals in the workplace. We’re very proud that SAP and Lindsey Rowe in particular, have featured and supported the launch of this report.

Here are some key takeaways that will make you want to dive deeper into the full report:

  • 15-20% of the global population is estimated to be neurodivergent. These individuals approach problems and tasks from unique perspectives, offering solutions that often go unnoticed by neurotypical minds. This makes neurodivergent talent a hidden gem, particularly in industries like tech.
  • 50% of neurodivergent employees in the tech sector report feeling impacted by their condition on most days, with 25% feeling it every day. Despite this, only 9% have requested workplace adjustments.
  • 27% fear stigma, while 24% fear reduced career opportunities, preventing many from disclosing their neurodivergent status.
  • Neurodivergent employees are shown to have a 90% retention rate once hired, matching that of neurotypical employees.
  • Inclusion programs are not only socially responsible but profitable. For instance, SAP’s Autism at Work program, which has employed over 215 individuals across 16 countries, boasts impressive outcomes. Neurodivergent team members have been found to be 90% to 140% more productive than their peers.
  • JPMorgan Chase reports similar successes, with teams including neurodivergent members producing 1.2x to 1.4x the output compared to traditional teams.

With these insights, the value of neurodiversity becomes clear, not just as an ethical choice, but as a strategic business advantage. Ready to lead the way in inclusion? Download the full report and unlock the potential of neurodiversity in your organisation.
